2011 Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo!

We made our way to Reliant Park for the 2011 HLSR this morning.  We've been planning to take Kate all week and of course today is the coldest, windiest, blah day we've had here in Houston in weeks.  We loaded up in hopes of it not being as crowded due to the weather but, sadly we were mistaken.

It started off a little rocky as parking/ transportation to the arena was an absolute nightmare.  However, we saw some neat animals, ate some BBQ, and enjoyed some quality family time outside of the house!

We saw cows

And Pigs

Momma Sheep and their sweet, two day old babies

We looked at goats with Daddy while momma acted like the paparazzi

And watched in amazement as a little girl, no more than four years old, guided her huge pig through the pig run.  I'm willing to bet her life is MUCH different than Kate's life in the city!  Haha!

Overall, we had a great time!  I love watching Kate take in new, exciting environments.  And I love dreaming about how next years Rodeo will be.  I'm willing to bet we will not be able to bypass the pony rides and petting zoo like we did this year!

Kate was all smiles for Alex when we got home too!
